VAN NUYS — Two people were killed Wednesday in the crash of a small plane at Van Nuys Airport.
Firefighters were sent to the 16300 block of Waterman Drive at 10:37 a.m., according to the Los Angeles Fire Department.
“One small single-engine aircraft crashed at Van Nuys Airport and burst into flames,” the LAFD said in a statement. “Fire crews quickly extinguished the flames, but, sadly, both occupants on board were found to be deceased.”
Information was not immediately available on the identities of the two people who died. The circumstances of the crash were under investigation.
