Icahn boosts stake in Icahn Enterprises, Southwest Gas; exits Cheniere Energy

  • Carl Icahn increased his stake in his own company, Icahn Enterprises (NASDAQ:IEP), and Southwest Gas Holdings (NYSE:SWX) and exited positions in Cheniere Energy (NYSE:LNG) and Herc Holdings (NYSE:HRI) in Q2 2023, according to his 13F filing.
  • He boosted his stake in IEP to almost 335M shares from almost 300M at the end of Q1. His stake in Southwest Gas (SWX) increased to 10.8M shares from 10.5M.
  • Icahn reduced his holdings in FirstEnergy (NYSE:FE) to 14.1M shares from almost 19M, according to the filing.

He wasn’t told of the lower dividend yet when he bought IEP. So the Chinese walls between the different entities seem to work.
