After the LA Dodgers won the 2020 World Series, Corey Seager was rightfully named the World Series MVP.

The LA Dodgers are World Champions once again after they beat the Tampa Bay Rays in six games.

Over the course of the last decade, the LA Dodgers have had some loaded teams with a lot of talent. However, those teams have come up short of winning the World Series in recent years.

This season, the Dodgers had enough to get it done, as a couple moves in the offseason proved to be very important. Coming into the playoffs, many would have expected that it would have been Mookie Betts or Cody Bellinger to be named the World Series MVP. However, it was Corey Seager who really elevated his play.

For Dodgers fans, Seager is a well-known name, as he was a top prospect of the franchise. Unfortunately for Seager, he missed a good amount of time because of injury. However, this season, Seager played very well and this carried into his postseason play.

In the playoffs, Seager finished with eight home runs, 20 RBIs, and 20 runs scored. It was an historic postseason for the Dodgers’ shortstop, and he really helped the team achieve their ultimate goal.

Against the Rays, Seager batted .400 with two home runs and five RBIs in the series. In the clinching game, Seager was able to knock in Betts with a ground ball to help give the Dodgers the lead in the game.

It was certainly and October to remember for both Seager and the Dodgers. This was the franchise’s first title since 1988, and it was also them finally getting over the hump in the playoffs this decade.

Seager is under contract for one more season with the Dodgers for 2021. After winning the World Series MVP, Seager could very well get a lucrative deal when he hits free agency.
