North Hills man killed, 2 hurt after car crashes into South Pasadena garage

One man died and two other people were injured after a speeding car crashed into a garage in South Pasadena over the weekend, police said.

The medical examiner’s office on Monday identified the man as Oscar Bejarano Jr., 21, of North Hills. The crash happened in the 300 block of Orange Grove Avenue shortly before 2 a.m. on Saturday, Aug. 12.

The driver, a 21-year-old Sun Valley man, was heading south on Orange Grove Avenue. As he approached Oliver Street, the driver lost control of the 2020 Infiniti and veered into a garage, a police statement said.

The impact pushed a car parked in the garage through the back wall, police said, adding no one inside the home was injured.

The driver and front passenger were injured and ended up in a hospital, police said. The passenger in the back seat died at the scene.
